Plotter v. Panser?

What’s your style?

What is a ‘Plotter’? This is  someone  who is very organized and plans out every step of the book they was to write from being to end.

What is a ‘Panser‘? This  is someone who writes the story as it unfolds before them, with no real plan or direction.

So what I’m I?

I’m a Panser!! Yep, I said it out loud and I’m not a shamed of it.. Well not really. I tend to be a very organized  in my professional career but when it comes to writing, I’m all over the place. Sometimes I think I need a handler.  No really, I tend to write  in pieces, chapter 4,  chapter 24 then back to chapter 1.  Man, I feel like I’m ADHD half the time. I’m  so not joking.

I’m been working on try to plot out my current story. An since I’m a visual learner, I figure it couldn’t hurt to give it a try. So far it’s helping me to see how to further develop my storyline by weaving threads of the plot and sub plots throughout to keep everything moving in the right direction.  Or so I hope.  Well thanks for stopping by. Maybe next time I’ll have my plot worked out and my story will be in the final stages.   Please take the poll below.

  1. You are soo funny. Did you say you need a handler sometimes? LOL.

I am a solid planner, I CAN NOT think of writing a thing if I don’t know where I’m going. But in all honestly, I wish I had a little panster in me.

My quest for orderliness can really be a henderance at times, so I am working on a plotter/panster style(about about 90/10 split–not much, but I’m trying-lol) that is working for me so far.

    Great post.

  2. I am so impressed with your site. It’s great to see that you are someone who seems so focused and committed. Keep moving ahead.
